Film Crew Parking Along Spur Ranch Road

Dear Neighbors,

For the next week, starting tomorow (Wednesday) afternoon, there will be a TV series episode being filmed along the railroad tracks, with the setup taking place over the next several days. The actual filming is scheduled for Monday, Dec 17, with some deconstruction and cleanup for one or two days afterwards.

Traffic disruption during this period should be minimal, except on Saturday, the filming day, when roughly ten large trailer trucks will be parked along the south side of the road, just west of the RR tracks. There is light traffic on that road segment, and the film company will provide flaggers to make sure there is no traffic problem. The Santa Fe Southern train will be part of the filming, so be careful at the RR Crossing. Also, please stay away from the tracks during the filming day. I'll let you know if there's any weather disruption of the schedule.

Thank you,

Jim Garland, president

Spur Ranch Road Annual Meeting Announcement

Dear Neighbor,

The Spur Ranch Road Annual Community Meeting is Sunday afternoon, Dec. 9 at 3:00pm, at my home at 102 Spur Ranch Road (Park along the driveway.) I hope you will be able to attend, because there are several important items of business:

(1) Consideration and vote on the proposed 2019 budget. The budget (copy attached) is a significant increase from last year and reflects the need to deal with the road's increasing deterioration. The rationale for the increase will be discussed at the meeting.

(2) Vote on two director vacancies. The Board consists of five community members who serve staggered three year (renewable) terms. Two members have expiring terms and have expressed a willingness to serve again. If you are interested in becoming a board member and have questions about the duties, please email or call me at (505) 466-8833 before the meeting. Additional nominations from the floor are also welcome. Here is a brief statement from each of the two announced candidates:

Jacquie Hollister: "I would be pleased to continue to serve on the SRRA board as we work toward making sure the road remains dependable and safe. I am also interested in working toward finding a way to move from our current model of annual community contributions for maintenance to finding the resources for a more permanent upgrade and eventual government partnership."

Mary Anne Stickler: "Mary Anne Stickler is the President of Monte Alto Homes and Land, Inc. She developed the Rancho San Lucas subdivision and currently owns 6 vacant lots in that development and serves as the President of their HOA. Mary Anne originally joined the SRRA Board by appointment to fill a vacancy and was subsequently elected to a full term. She is available to run for a second term and is interested in long range planning for Spur Ranch Road while maintaining a reliable passable road in the short term."

There are three attachments to this email:(1) A new, comprehensive FAQs document to inform members about the road, which I encourage you to read. (2) A meeting agenda. (3) The 2019 proposed budget.

Please remember our Bylaws require voting members to be fully current in their dues payments. See you at the meeting!

Regards,
Jim Garland, President
Spur Ranch Road Association.
