Upcoming Road Work and Call for New Board Members

Clearing Ditches and Grading Spur Ranch Road
and a
Call for new Association Board members

Please be aware that there will be heavy road equipment working on Spur Ranch Road Monday and Tuesday, 19 and 20 August 2019.  The ditches have silted up during the monsoon rains and pose a flooding danger to the roadbed with any additional rains.  The ditches will be cleaned out and the road graded, re-crowned, watered and compacted in preparation for fall and winter weather.

Please give the road workers lots of room to maneuver safely – the equipment they operate is heavy and they will be focused on creating a stable road surface.

At the Annual General meeting in late fall, 2019 there will be an election of new Spur Ranch Road Association Board members – two members, having been on the Board since the Association was formed in 2011, are stepping down.  Your Association needs voting members to step up to carry forward the maintenance and upkeep of Spur Ranch Road for all the property owners and residents using Spur Ranch Road to access their property, homes and businesses.  You’ll recall that in order to vote or to run for a Board position, your 2019 dues must be paid in full.  Please contact any of the current Board members for information on the responsibilities and workload of Board members; being a Board member is not arduous!

Please observe the maximum safe speed limit of 30 MPH and drive slowly and safely!

NOTICE: Rail Trail Improvement In Progress

Portion of Santa Fe Rail Trail to be Closed
Improvement will make for a better experience

SANTA FE, NM –  – A portion of the Santa Fe Rail Trail will be closed starting Thursday, August 8, 2019 until November 2019 to improve a 1.5 mile section of the trail. The portion of trail that will be closed is located between Avenida Eldorado (mile post 4.86) and Spur Ranch Road (mile post 3.5).

The closure is part of the fourth phase of the trail improvements, which includes trail surface and drainage improvements within the railroad right of way of the Santa Fe Southern Railroad. Trail users should plan to use an alternate route during the trail construction and closure.

Phase four of the project will cost approximately $391,010, the project is funded from General Obligation Bond (GOB) and a Federal Highway Administration Grant.

Santa Fe County has contracted with H.O. Construction of Albuquerque, NM for this phase of the project.

For more information on this project contact Colleen Baker, Project Manager, 505-992-9868 or cbaker@santafecountynm.gov

Please be wary when driving at the junction of the Rail Trail and Spur Ranch Road owing to this construction – there will be equipment working in this area.
